Mega Man Dual Override Boss Roster: Evidence Matrix for All 8 Robot Masters

Every Mega Man Dual Override boss claim in one table: who said it, what the evidence is, and whether we treat it as confirmed or a leak. 11 rows, each labelled.

Last updated:

Source note: The official rows in this table come from Capcom's press releases, the official product page and the Steam listing for app 4223290, checked on 24 October 2026. The leak rows come from an achievement list that circulated in October 2026, which we could not obtain first-hand and therefore mark Unverified. Nothing on this page is inferred from naming conventions or from earlier games in the series.

Two of the eight Robot Masters are confirmed by Capcom; the other six exist only in a leaked achievement list that happens to match both confirmed names, which is why the leak is credible without being trustworthy.

Doesn't apply when: A leak that is right about two entries can still be wrong about the other six — and one wrong name invalidates the whole list.

What this page is for

Every site covering this game has a boss list. Almost none of them tell you how confident you should be in each row, which is the only thing that matters while the game is unreleased. This page is that missing layer: one table, eleven rows, six columns, and a label on every claim.

It is not a ranking. There is no tier list here because tier placement requires damage numbers, stage layouts and weapon interactions, none of which exist yet. What exists is a set of claims of wildly different quality, and the useful editorial act is separating them rather than flattening them into a list that looks authoritative.

If you only want names, the Robot Masters hub page is faster. This page is for readers who saw a name somewhere and want to know whether it is real.

The matrix

Confidence uses the site-wide four-level scheme. Only Confirmed means Capcom said it.

Eleven rows, not eight. The last three exist precisely because readers ask about them — "who is the third boss", "does the game have a Wily castle" — and the honest answer is a row in a table rather than a paragraph of hedging.

How to read the confidence column

The four labels are not decoration; each maps to a specific kind of statement.

Confirmed means Capcom published it: a press release, the official product page, the Steam listing, or an official video where the name is legible. Two rows qualify. Both also have visual evidence — you can watch the boss fight in released footage.

Unverified means a third party said it and we could not reproduce the claim. Six leaked names and Astro Man live here. The leak's credibility comes from a specific fact: it names Twinkle Girl and Jet Man correctly, and those are the two names Capcom has independently confirmed. That is corroboration, not proof — a list built from partial information can be right about what was already public and wrong about everything else.

Unknown means nobody has published it. Not "we did not look" — we looked and found nothing, and the row exists so that you can see the gap rather than wonder whether we forgot.

Why the leak is credible and still not trustworthy

Two separate questions get collapsed in most coverage, and pulling them apart is the point of this page.

Is the leak credible? Yes, more than the usual forum rumour. It matches both officially confirmed bosses, it has the shape of a real achievement list rather than a wish list, and its other names read like designs this series would actually ship. If you had to bet, betting on it is not unreasonable.

Should a guide state it as fact? No. The failure mode is asymmetric: if the roster is right, a site that hedged loses nothing a reader values; if one name is wrong, a site that stated all eight as fact has to retract the entire page at once, and every other number on the site becomes suspect.

That asymmetry is the whole editorial policy. It is also why the two confirmed rows and the six leaked rows sit in the same table but never in the same column.

What would move a row

Each row has a specific trigger that upgrades it, and knowing the trigger tells you what to watch for:

Current labelWhat changes itHow fast we would update
Unverified (leaked name)Capcom names the boss in a trailer, press release or official pageSame day
Unverified (Astro Man)Capcom describes returning characters, or a clean frame shows a nameplateSame day
Unknown (third boss)Any official reveal, regardless of which name it isSame day
Confirmed (either boss)Nothing — confirmed facts do not downgrade—

The "same day" commitment is not marketing. It is what the file structure allows: every row is a table cell, and the check date at the top of the page is the only thing that has to change when a row does.

Three claims this page will not make

That the roster is final. Eight is the confirmed count of Robot Masters. Whether the game adds a fortress sequence with its own bosses is a separate question, and the classic series pattern is not evidence about this game.

That the leaked names are ordered. A leaked list says nothing about the order Capcom will reveal them, and nothing about stage-select layout. Any "boss order" page published before launch is derived from the leak plus assumption.

That any weakness relationship is known. Not one. The only confirmed weapon fact is that Jet Man drops the Jet Stinger, and knowing a weapon's behaviour tells you nothing about what it is strong against. The leak breakdown covers the sourcing in more detail, and the third boss page explains why that specific query has no answer yet.

Claims we looked at and rejected

Not every circulating claim deserves a row. These were checked and left out, and the reason matters as much as the exclusion:

ClaimWhere it came fromWhy it is not in the matrix
"A ninth Robot Master was cut"Forum discussion about the leaked listNo source, and the confirmed count is eight; a cut character is unfalsifiable pre-launch
"The roster was datamined from a demo"Widely repeated in comment threadsThere is no public demo, so there was no build to datamine
"Boss names leaked through a retail listing"Retail placeholder pagesRetailers publish placeholder metadata regularly; none of the names originated there
"The eight include two returning bosses"Assumption from anniversary framingCapcom states all eight are new characters

Each of those appears often enough to look like common knowledge. None survives the question "who said it first".

Two of the leaked names have their own pages, because they attract separate searches: Sand Woman and Tank Man. Both carry the same Unverified label as their matrix rows, and neither page pretends to know a weakness, a weapon or a stage.

What happens at launch

When the game installs, this page is rebuilt from observation rather than reporting. The stage-select screen gives names and count in one pass; the first boss fight gives one edge of the weakness wheel; the achievement list either corroborates the leak or falsifies it.

At that point the matrix does not get deleted. Rows keep their labels and gain an Observed date, and the leak rows that turned out wrong stay visible with a correction note attached — because a page that quietly deletes its wrong predictions is a page you cannot use to judge the next prediction.

How many bosses are in Mega Man Dual Override?

Eight Robot Masters, all new characters, confirmed by Capcom. The count has been consistent across every announcement. Whether a fortress or final sequence adds further bosses is unknown and is not included in that number.

Are the leaked boss names real?

We treat six of them as Unverified. The leaked achievement list names all eight and matches the two bosses Capcom has confirmed, which makes it credible, but Credible and confirmed are different labels here, and one wrong name would invalidate the list.

Who is the third Robot Master?

Unknown. Only Twinkle Girl and Jet Man have been revealed officially, and Capcom has not announced a third. Pages naming a specific third boss are either repeating the leak or guessing at reveal order.

Which boss should I fight first?

There is no defensible answer before launch. Boss order depends on the stage-select layout and the weakness wheel, and neither has been published. Any recommended order today is built on assumptions from earlier games in the series.

Is Astro Man in Mega Man Dual Override?

Unverified. Viewers have read a returning character into trailer footage, but Capcom has not described any returning bosses, and the eight confirmed Robot Masters are all new designs. He is not one of the eight.
