Mega Man Dual Override Release Date

Every official announcement about the Mega Man Dual Override release window, with source and date for each claim.

What this section covers

This section is about one question: when does Mega Man Dual Override come out, and can you trust the date? Everything filed here is about timing and availability — the announcement history, the current window, what Capcom has actually said, and what is still blank.

It deliberately does not cover which systems the game is on (that is the Platforms section), whether a demo exists (that is Demo), or who the bosses are (that is Robot Masters). Mixing those into a release page is how sites end up with five pages that all say "Spring 2027" and nothing else.

The whole section is five pages. That is not laziness — there are only so many genuine questions about a date, and every one of them is answered here without a second page competing for the same query.

The short answer

Spring 2027. That is the only window Capcom has stated, and it has not moved since September 2026. No exact day, no month inside spring, and no preload date has been announced.

Two things follow from that, and both matter more than the date itself:

First, a window is not a promise. A spring window announced nine months out moves often in this industry, and when it moves the sites that wrote "releases on 12 March 2027" have to quietly rewrite. We do not print a day we cannot source, which means this page will keep looking less specific than its competitors — and will be the one that stays correct.

Second, the absence of a price and a pre-order is itself information. Steam has listed the game since the 2025 announcement and still offers only a Wishlist button. A store page that has existed for a year without a price is a store page whose publisher is not ready to commit to a date either.

The confirmed timeline

Every dated claim in this section traces back to one of these. Dates are publication dates, not the dates events happened.

DateWhat was announcedWhere it came from
11 December 2025Game revealed with a 2027 release windowThe Game Awards announcement, Capcom press release
25 August 2026Proto Man confirmed playable; Override, Custom Chips and eight new Robot Masters detailedGamescom 2026 trailer and Capcom press release
9 September 2026Second trailer; window narrowed from "2027" to springOfficial trailer, Nintendo Direct broadcast

21 September 2026Jet Man revealed as the second Robot MasterOfficial trailer and Steam news post
23–24 October 2026Steam still shows coming soon, no price, no pre-orderOur own check of the store page

The narrowing from "2027" to "Spring 2027" is the only movement so far, and it moved earlier, not later. That is unusual enough to be worth noting: most delays go the other way, so the current window has held through two announcement cycles.

What nobody has announced yet

Four things are commonly assumed and none of them are confirmed:

  • The day. No date, no month within spring, no "early/late spring" refinement.
  • The price. No figure exists for any platform, in any region.
  • Pre-orders. No storefront has opened them, including Steam.
  • Whether spring 2027 means the same thing in every region. Capcom has published one global window and has not split it by territory.

All four are marked Unknown rather than estimated. A guide that fills them with "likely $59.99" is not being helpful; it is guessing at the one number a reader will act on.

How we check, and what counts as a change

We re-read the Steam listing and Capcom's product page for this game on a regular schedule and log what they return. A change only counts when one of these happens:

  1. release_date.coming_soon flips to false, or release_date.date stops being a year.
  2. A price or pre-purchase option appears.
  3. Capcom publishes a dated announcement naming a day or month.

Anything else — a new trailer, a magazine cover, a retailer placeholder — is context, not a date change, and does not move this page. Retailer placeholder dates are the single most common source of fake release dates in this genre; they exist to open pre-orders and are routinely wrong by months.

Where to start

  • If you just want the date: read the release date page. It leads with the window and the evidence, not with a history lesson.
  • If you want to know whether it is out right now: is it out yet answers that in one line and tells you what shipping looks like on each storefront.
  • If you are trying to reconstruct the announcements: the announcement timeline lists them in order with sources, which is also the page to check when someone claims a date was "leaked".

We also keep a machine-checked log of the store's own state on the release status page — sample count, the time window covered, and a change counter, because "unchanged since September" is a claim you can verify rather than trust.

Three mistakes we see most

Treating a retailer placeholder as a date. A shop listing with a 31 December date is not an announcement, it is a database default. Two of the most-shared "release date" posts about this game cite exactly that.

Assuming a window narrows monotonically. "2027" becoming "Spring 2027" looks like progress toward a day, and it usually is — but the next movement can just as easily be a slip. We will not describe the window as "on track" without a statement from Capcom saying so.

Confusing the demo with the release. Press played a hands-on build in 2026, which leads people to assume a downloadable demo precedes launch. Nothing about that build has been published, and the two events are independent.

Claims that circulate without a source

Three specific claims get repeated in comment sections often enough that we check them every time we update this page. None has ever been traceable to Capcom.

"It was delayed to 2028." There is no statement to that effect. The window was narrowed toward 2027 in September 2026, which is the opposite direction. When people say this, they are usually reacting to a trailer's silence on a date rather than to news.

"It launches in March." March is the most common placeholder month for spring releases and the most common guess in this genre, which is exactly why a March claim needs a named source. Capcom has not used the word March in any material we have read.

"Pre-orders open with the next trailer." Plausible, and completely unevidenced. Pre-order timing correlates with marketing beats, but the correlation is not a rule — several Capcom titles have opened pre-orders months after their final trailer.

The reason this section exists at all is that a release page is where readers are most willing to accept a number. Publishing a wrong day costs a reader a wasted pre-order window; publishing nothing but "Spring 2027, here is the evidence" costs nothing.
